Intern (m/f/d) - Bioinformatic / Computational Biology (for 6 months+)

Your Tasks

  • Support the bioinformatics team in maintaining current Bioinformatic infrastructure and support ongoing projects with database mining and data analysis
  • Maintain and refine the existing in-house pipelines for omics data analysis
  • Setting up standalone applications for predictive diagnostic tools to guide precision treatment using large
  • public databases in an automated fashion
  • Being able to handle diverse needs to use and maintain omics analysis for in house and publicly available
  • data
  • Statistical analysis and visualization
  • Generation of hypotheses that are testable in a wet or dry lab setting

Our Requirements

  • University degree (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in relevant area, such as biology, bioinformatics, pharmacology, medicine, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biomedical science or equivalent qualification
  • Strong Programming skills in R, and Python
  • Strong communication skills and excellent command of English language are mandatory
  • Knowledge in immuno-oncology target biology and bioinformatics would be a strong plus
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows operations from command line is a plus
  • The position is open immediately and designed for a candidate that is willing to join Pieris full-time for at
  • least six months, a shorter duration may be possible for exceptionally qualified candidates
